Our client is a premium, culturally driven direct-to-consumer brand specializing in Korean-American-inspired products. Focused on building high-performing, conversion-driven e-commerce experiences, the brand is scaling rapidly and investing heavily in a custom Shopify storefront to support growth and customer engagement.

Fully Remote | 9 AM – 3 PM EST (30 hours/week)
Role Overview
The Senior Shopify Developer will own the development of a custom Shopify storefront built from the ground up. This role focuses on Shopify OS 2.0 theme development, building high-performance, conversion-optimized pages, and ensuring a seamless user experience across devices. The role emphasizes clean, custom development with strong frontend execution, while supporting CRO initiatives, integrations, and ongoing site optimization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Shopify Liquid background, experience with Shopify’s theme development, and a solid understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. While conversion rate optimization (CRO), analytics, and integrations will be part of the role, the primary responsibility will be to build and maintain a custom Shopify storefront that drives business results.
Key Responsibilities
Custom Shopify Development
Build, edit, and maintain custom Shopify pages and templates using Shopify OS 2.0 with clean, performance-focused customizations.
Develop custom product pages, collection pages, and landing pages aligned with brand guidelines and conversion goals.
Implement and customize Shopify Liquid to create reusable components and enhance site functionality.
Ensure a consistent, seamless user experience across desktop and mobile devices.
Shopify Store Optimization
Optimize site performance, including load speed, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
Implement features such as upsells, bundles, and product recommendations on product detail pages.
Partner with design and marketing teams to support feature launches, promotions, and new product releases.
Frontend Development
Use HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to enhance site functionality and user experience.
Implement responsive layouts and interactive elements across the storefront.
Collaborate closely with designers to integrate creative assets while maintaining visual consistency.
Site Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Monitor the site for bugs, broken links, and functionality issues, resolving them efficiently.
Deploy updates, changes, and fixes with minimal customer disruption.
Provide ongoing maintenance to continuously improve performance and usability.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
Implement conversion-focused features such as upsells, cross-sells, and bundles throughout the site.
Support A/B testing efforts and analyze performance data to improve user flows and conversion rates.
Collaborate with marketing to optimize landing pages and product pages for conversion.
Integrations
Integrate Shopify with third-party tools including CRM, subscriptions, loyalty, and reviews platforms.
Ensure accurate data flow across systems for products, customers, and transactions.
Support integrations related to affiliate marketing, loyalty programs, and customer feedback.
Performance Monitoring
Use analytics tools to monitor site traffic, user behavior, and conversion performance.
Identify opportunities to improve funnels, user paths, and overall site effectiveness.
Qualifications
Experience
4+ years of experience working as a Shopify Developer with a strong focus on custom theme development.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining Shopify OS 2.0 storefronts.
Experience supporting conversion-focused e-commerce initiatives.
Experience with third-party integrations for subscriptions, CRM, loyalty, or reviews platforms.
Skills
Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Deep understanding of Shopify theme architecture and performance optimization.
Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot layout, performance, and functionality issues.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on high-quality, low-bug releases.
Ability to manage tasks independently and communicate progress clearly.
Experience with CRO concepts and implementing conversion-driven site features.
Experience with analytics tools and performance tracking is preferred.
Familiarity with Shopify Plus, A/B testing, SEO for e-commerce, email marketing platforms, or high-traffic DTC launches is a plus.
