Role Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will support the growth of multiple beauty brands by managing independent boutique accounts across the U.S. and Canada. The role includes opening new accounts, nurturing existing relationships, assisting with revenue acceleration, and collaborating closely with the Sales Director.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position ideal for a commercial, ambitious, and outgoing individual excited to work within a startup environment focused on beauty, retail, and brand development.
Key Responsibilities
Opening New Accounts (85%)
Identify potential new clients by researching state-level opportunities, current brand assortments, pricing, and fit.
Contact prospects through emailing, cold-calling, in-person visits, and other outreach methods.
Use social media, magazines, and other creative sources to discover potential accounts.
Share brand knowledge with prospects, including key selling points and detailed product information when needed.
Manage the CRM pipeline for new prospects and review progress weekly with the Sales Director.
Suggest opening orders, including retail products, testers, sampling strategies, and personalized SKU mixes.
Organize and deliver client trainings.
Execute retail marketing initiatives to support successful launches (windows, sampling, partnerships, etc.).
Identify support needed to secure and retain business.
Managing Administrative Tasks (15%)
Update and maintain CRM records with new leads and accounts.
Update daily reporting for each brand and review weekly with the Sales Director.
Collaborate with the sales and accounting teams to monitor open orders and ensure timely shipping.
Support various ad-hoc projects as needed.
Image & Attitude
Represent the brands professionally.
Maintain consistency in messaging and brand image.
Meet deadlines across all responsibilities.
Qualifications
Experience
Proven success in sales with independent accounts.
Experience consulting with business owners and building strong relationships with partners.
Background working with smaller businesses.
Experience selling consumer goods.
Skills
Flawless written and spoken English.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently within a small team.
Sell-in and sell-through oriented with a structured, organized, and detail-driven approach.
Strong ability to prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
Creative problem-solver with excellent troubleshooting skills.
High IT literacy, especially Excel and Outlook.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with Faire (nice to have).
Ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada if needed (rare).
