About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the rapid transformation and automation of data reporting pipelines for a fast-growing project. The main objective is to centralize and automate ad hoc and recurring reporting—transitioning from manual spreadsheet updates to robust, scalable reporting powered by a centralized data warehouse environment (currently PostHog). This is a full-time, freelance/contract position, expected to last 2-3 months (including ramp-up), but could be shorter depending on onboarding and execution speed.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to centralize data in a modern warehouse (PostHog)
Automate ETL processes and existing spreadsheet-based reports
Work closely with finance and business stakeholders to understand ad hoc reporting needs and deliver efficient solutions
Prepare the data infrastructure for a future conection to a dedicated reporting platform
Document processes and ensure data quality and integrity
Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Engineer using Python
Hands-on experience with AWS data services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Redshift, Glue, etc.)
Advanced SQL and experience with modern data warehouses (PostHog, Redshift, Databricks, or similar)
Strong experience in automating spreadsheets and data transformation for reporting
Ability to collaborate with business teams (finance, operations) and quickly address ad hoc reporting needs
Professional English (written and verbal)
Nice to Have
Experience in financial reporting or startup analytics projects
Previous remote and freelance experience
Experience as a Data Analyst with report generators
